What are the functions of the three holes of cam indexer?
1. The oil filling hole is located at the top of the three holes, and the oil filling hole is also a vent hole. There is a small hole in the middle of the copper inner hexagon nut for ventilation. We know that there is lubricating oil inside the cam indexer body, and there will be air and air pressure inside. If the cam indexer is completely closed, when it runs for a period of time, the temperature will rise sharply, resulting in greater pressure, which is easy to cause oil leakage. Therefore, the cam indexer needs ventilation, and the vent cap is the solution to this problem. Oil is also filled in through this hole, which can be filled with a small funnel.
2. The oil mirror / oil lens is used to add lubricating oil to the cam indexer
Lubricating oil condition, including oil quantity and quality. If the oil can not be seen through the oil mirror, it means that the oil is less, and it is necessary to add lubricating oil to the middle of the oil mirror. Sometimes there is such an illusion that the oil can not be seen in the oil mirror, but the oil is very full. We tilt the cam indexer to know whether the oil completely covers the oil mirror. Because the oil mirror is completely covered, the oil can not be seen. If the lubricating oil is turbid and has impurities through the oil mirror, it means that the lubricating oil needs to be replaced.
3. The oil drain hole is located at the bottom of the three holes. Before changing the new lubricating oil, the old lubricating oil needs to be drained out. If conditions permit, it is better to clean the inside of the cam indexer.
